Raised bed made from FSC certified cedar and larch with integral coppa stoppa slug defence. Copper naturally carries a positive charge which the slugs will not cross.
There is no need for noxious chemicals as cedar and larch are naturally resistant to rot and insect damage, so you can grow your own truly organic vegetables.
The sides are 20cm high, which makes beds deep enough for most vegetables. The beds are stackable though if more depth is needed. Each side is 1m long.
The kit includes fixings, assembly instructions and a garden planner from the HDRA. They are easy to assemble.

Raised beds are much the best way to grow your own vegetables. I’m sure of it. I was a sceptic and then a few years ago I finally relented and converted my entire vegetable plot to raised beds. It took a fair bit of time and toil, but I have never looked back.
For me the main benefit is being able to weed a bed in 10 minutes. A 10 minute stint now feels worthwhile rather a drop in the ocean. There is also no longer any need to dig, as I’m not walking on the beds, which saves a huge amount of time and back ache. And the soil probably has a better structure as a result, as worms do a far better job of mixing the soil than we ever could.
These beds include a copper strip which is a better way to deter slugs than slug pellets. If slugs continue to come up through the ground then a nematode drench is the best solution.
The pyramid design means a wide range of layouts are possible. The two most important considerations are to allow enough space between beds for a wheel barrow to get through, at least on one side of each bed, and for no bed to be so wide that you can’t reach into the centre without standing on it. So for example, a good layout would be to group 3 beds into a trapezoid, which is 1m wide and 2m at its longest.
