Pathway Workshop

Pathways is an inspiring organization based in Oxfordshire which provides work and training for adults who have had difficulty working in open society. For people who want to work, but find the pressure of a conventional commercial operation too much, Pathways provides a supportive, structured environment which enables them to lead a normal life. For many of the employees, Pathways is literally a lifesaver.  Pathway makes a traditional birdbox and the sedum birdbox for us.

Many of the employees stay at Pathways long term. None are obliged to leave at the end of their training and those who do leave are always welcome to return.

The wood is FSC pine donated by local businesses. Pathways is not only making good use of off-cuts that would otherwise end up in landfill, but they also make best use of all the wood they are given, by selling byproducts such as sawdust for animal bedding and bags of kindling for sale on garage forecourts. Almost nothing goes to waste.

Pathways has been a registered charity since 1992. A huge amount of local support has helped ensure Pathway’s survival, but competition from low cost Far East imports is never far away. With precious little support from government, it is the sale of items like their birdboxes which keeps them going!
