It was the idea of making wooden toys and tools for family birthday presents and wedding anniversaries which prompted Jane to follow a course of woodwork evening classes. The popularity of these initial efforts, particularly the beech chopping boards and a serving platter in the shape of a salmon, spurred Jane onto start a business based in Hampshire.

Six years on the company now employs craftspeople in the U.K. and Europe manufacturing a selection of innovative products for the home and garden made from sustainable FSC wood. The product for which Jane is best known is the newspaper pot maker, which makes it easy to recycle your newspaper into pots for your seedlings. The paper potter has gone on to become a gardening classic.
